Things to do while you're staying with us in Grayson County:

 Grayson Highlands State Park- Only 5 minutes away, and bordering Bluebird Cabin, the Park features hiking and horsebacking trails with breathtaking views and scenery.

 Jefferson National Forest- Borders the State Park.  Contains many beautiful horseback and walking trails.  Views similar to out West.  Some forest features are similar to Canada.

 The Appalachian Trail- Premier hiking trail on the East Coast, runs from Georgia to Maine.  Through this area, the trail runs through the Jefferson National Forest, and also dips briefly into the State Park.

 The Virginia Creeper Bike Trail- Like the AT, the Creeper is the premier bike trail on the East Coast. Runs 17 miles downhill from Whitetop to Damascus. Rental bikes and shuttle available in Damascus.

A few interesting towns in the area:

Damascus, VA. - Known as Trail Town, USA, five major trails end or intersect here.  A trendy little mountain town.

Abingdon, VA. - An historic town, featuring several shops, and the historic Barter Theatre.

 Jefferson/ West Jefferson, NC.- Features several neat shops on Main Street.
